Aker BioMarine, together with its newly divested feed and fishery company holding the QRILL Aqua brand, has been awarded the title of the world's most innovative company in the private sector by the Global Innovation Management Institute (GIMI)
GIMI is the largest global non-profit membership organization promoting standards for innovation management. It collaborates with more than 500 university partners worldwide. During the GIMI Innovation Award was hosted at LaSalle University in Barcelona, in the Private Sector category, Aker BioMarine was recognized for its ability to drive sustainable innovation initiatives.
The jury stated:
“Aker BioMarine earned 1st place for its pioneering work in nutritional innovation, driven by its commitment to quality, sustainability, and the development of krill-based ingredients. Through relentless exploration of new technologies, Aker BioMarine continues to set industry standards, making a global impact on human health.”
The award celebrates organizations and individuals in the public, private, and social sectors who are pushing boundaries and advancing innovation across industries, regions, and communities.
A Global Standard for Innovation
Founded in 2006, Aker BioMarine has since become a leader in the billion-dollar Antarctic krill industry. The company has pioneered sustainable krill harvesting and established a global research, product development, and market expansion ecosystem.
