STUDIES SHOW GREAT EFFECTS ON SALMON HEALTH AND FILLET QUALITY

QRILL AQUA IS PROVEN TO PROVIDE:
- Improved feed uptake
- Faster growth
- Healthier fish
- Better fillet quality
- Sustainable feed
QRILL Aqua is rich in protein, omega-3 phospholipids and astaxanthin.
Fish feed applications featuring QRILL Aqua promote healthier, more robust farmed fish — and improve efficiency. Feeds with krill have optimal omega-3 vs. omega-6 fatty acid balance, which results in a strong immune system in salmonids. A strong immune system is the basis for good health and reduced mortality.
In diets for salmonids, QRILL acts as a feeding stimulant that increases feed uptake and enhances growth. Fish like the taste of krill and eat more when feed contains krill. Therefore fish grow faster and reach their harvest weight earlier. This results in the fish being less exposed to disease.
Better health gives positive effect on fillet quality
The omega-3 phospholipids in QRILL Aqua lowers inflammation in fish hence strengthens robustness and health. This gives better muscle quality and higher yield. Fillets are firmer, there is less gaping, and for salmon a reduced occurrence of dark spots has been observed.
We are working steadily with our feed partners, their fish farmers, and independent research groups to document the beneficial effects of our Antarctic krill feed products. A number of studies highlighting the advantages of including QRILL Aqua in salmon diets have been completed.
"We are pooling our scientific and practical understanding of fish species and marine ingredients in order to develop feed products that address key aquaculture challenges. "

Salmon benefit from a strong immune system
To a large extent, the difference between good health and disease is about the ratio between the number of cells which work well, and those that do not. The cells have many tasks, such as to signal, transport, fight, build and protect, and the balance between omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids is important for their ability to perform these tasks.
