QRILL Aqua takes the stage at leading aquaculture events in June

.

Blog overview

From the International Symposium on Fish Nutrition Feeding, AquaVision to the North Atlantic Seafood Forum, Aker BioMarine's QRILL Aqua team is going on tour, engaging with the global aquaculture community at events in Europe.

ISFNF 2022

First stop is Sorrento, Italy, where the 20th annual International Symposium on Fish Nutrition and Feeding Towards Precision Fish Nutrition and Feeding (ISFNF2022) takes place from June 5-9. Aker BioMarine is a proud sponsor of this event, where experts from our operations in Europe and Asia will gather to host a company booth.

Also, at ISFNF2022, our Director R&D, Dr. Kiranpreet Kaur, will take the stage to present results from the study on the “Role of choline from krill meal in reducing intestinal steatosis in Atlantic salmon”.

“I will be presenting the results from a study we did in collaboration with Cargill Aqua Nutrition, Norway, on the effects of krill meal on growth performance and gill health in Atlantic salmon smolts,” explains Kaur. “This event is a great opportunity to meet with other scientists, listen to research and discoveries, and update each other on our knowledge on fish health and nutrition. It’s also a chance for Aker BioMarine to share more on the novel benefits of krill meal towards Atlantic salmon.”

AquaVision

Next up is AquaVision, organized by Skretting, in Stavanger, Norway, from June 13-15. This is a world business conference for the aquaculture community, with a diverse group of attendees who gather biannually to discuss the most critical topics impacting the industry. Aker BioMarine is a proud sponsor of this event, which is titled “Share the vision, navigate the future and expand the possibilities”.

Aker BioMarine will be the show opener at this year’s conference. The company plans to focus on our sustainable approach to fishing and its experience with biotechnology innovation, as well as cross-industry collaboration, throughout our engagements at the event.

“AquaVision is an important arena for us cement both our company’s position in the aqua industry as well as krill’s role in the international marine ingredient market,” says VP QRILL Sales Kjetil Ribe, Aker BioMarine.

North Atlantic Seafood Forum

And to round off events season, we will meet leaders from across the seafood business in Bergen, Norway, for the North Atlantic Seafood Forum (NASF) from June 21-23. This is considered the world’s largest top executive seafood business conference, with more than 700 delegates partaking.

In addition to sponsoring the event, our EVP Animal Health and Nutrition, Sigve Nordrum, will  talk to participants about how Krill - although small in size, can make a big impact on animal health and performance. In addition, CEO Matts Johansen will participate in the Investor Forum on day three, engaging with the financial community on the future of the krill business.

“There’s an exciting program lined up at NASF, with relevant topics touching on climate change, carbon footprint and sustainability in our industry, among others – all topics that are quite close to our hearts and integral to our business,” says EVP Animal Nutrition Sigve Nordrum, Aker BioMarine.
