Guayaquil, October 2024 — At AQUAEXPO 2024, the most important event in the shrimp industry in South America, representatives of QRILL Aqua had the opportunity to showcase how their product can enhance shrimp nutrition and performance.

During the conference, Alberto Nunes, PhD from LABOMAR-UFC Brazil, presented on "Optimization of the Use of Marine Proteins to Improve Growth, Disease Resistance, and Economic Performance of Juvenile Penaeus vannamei." His presentation discussed how krill meal and oil can effectively complement traditional marine and plant proteins while boosting shrimp health and immunity.

Alberto Nunes was one of the speakers participating in the international congress held from October 22 to 24, where key topics for the future of the aquaculture industry were addressed, including animal health, nutritional strategies, safety, efficiency, and emerging technologies that are revolutionizing the market. For the first time this year, the Sustainability Forum, titled “Race to the Top,” was organized by the Sustainable Shrimp Partnership (SSP), featuring national and international speakers discussing governance, environmental issues, and social and economic aspects.

During the fair, executives Marcelo Oyarzún Roa, Technical and Sales Manager for LATAM at QRILL Aqua, and Valentina Tapia Montt, Vice President of the Salmon Group, held meetings with clients and industry representatives, highlighting the benefits of krill meal in shrimp farming. They also explored krill compounds, such as astaxanthin, choline, and phospholipids, which are essential for improving growth and stress resistance, making them key ingredients for the industry.

The aquaculture fair, organized by the National Chamber of Aquaculture (CNA), brought together nearly 300 companies this year at the Guayaquil Convention Center.

“AQUAEXPO 2024 is positioned as a key event for development and innovation in the shrimp industry, promoting sustainable and effective solutions for the future of the sector, and that’s why, as Qrill Aqua, we couldn’t miss it. We are very pleased to have connected with our shrimp farming clients and to explore new opportunities, showcasing the benefits of our product. Krill meal and oil contain essential nutrients that support growth, reproduction, and robustness, positively influencing immune and inflammatory responses,” explained Marcelo Oyarzún Roa, Technical and Sales Manager for LATAM at QRILL Aqua.
